What is Onychomycosis?
Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nail, also known as nail fungus.
Both finger and toe nails can be affected, however, it’s especially prevalent in toenails.
Symptoms & Effects
It may include white or yellow nail discoloration, thickening of the nail, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. When left untreated it may cause pain and, in more severe cases, can even impair walking
Onychomycosis represents ~12.1% of all infections and the main treatment option is drug therapy.
